Abstract: The emergence of sophisticated language models such as ChatGPT has far-reaching implications across numerous fields, including academia. This article explores the potential impact of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligences (AIs) on academic research, particularly in tasks such as literature review, data analysis and presentation, and text composition and translation.
