Abstract: The article analyzes abortion in the Brazilian legislature, focusing on restrictive bills presented between 2019 and 2022. The justification is based on the need to understand the political forces that influence attempts to restrict abortion in the country, particularly under the growing conservative influence in the National Congress. The aim of the study is to analyze the bills that seek to restrict the right to abortion, mapping the proponents and identifying the main arguments used. The methodology adopted was a documentary analysis of 29 bills, of which 17 dealt directly with restrictions on abortion, and were classified into four main categories: increasing criminalization, total prohibition, restricting access to information and strengthening the rights of the unborn. The results show a strong political articulation of conservative and religious groups in proposing these bills. The conclusions indicate that the period analyzed reflects the strengthening of a conservative agenda in Brazil, with parliamentarians seeking to limit the right to abortion, based on arguments defending life from conception. The study contributes to understanding legislative strategies aimed at restricting women's reproductive rights.
