The “Training of Trainers Course for the Strengthening of Collegiate Bodies and Councils,” organized by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic (SGPR) as part of the Training Program for the Strengthening of Collegiate Bodies and Councils, came to an end on Wednesday, November 26.

Researchers Monika Dowbor, from INCT Participa, and Lizandra Serafim then affiliated with INCT Participa, were part of the pedagogical committee responsible for the conception and design of the program, alongside members of the National Secretariat for Social Participation (SNPS).

In the final class, certificates of participation were awarded to the 19 collegiate bodies present. One of the main outcomes was the development of 15 action plans related to the training strategy of these bodies.

“The objective of the course was, within each collegiate body, to create a training collective that would propose actions for the council, and this was achieved with the development of these plans and strategies,” said Monika Dowbor. The researcher highlighted the high level of engagement and participation of the collegiate bodies as key factors contributing to this result.

These plans, Monika Dowbor emphasized, are based on a principle of popular education—that is, they point to the need to diagnose the training needs of councils according to the changes they aim to implement.

“In this way, training for change is promoted. And this is grounded in listening and dialogue, so that the training makes sense within the context of each collegiate body,” Monika stated.

The classes were organized into five modules: The role of participatory collegiate bodies in democratic construction; Functioning of participatory collegiate bodies: composition, representativeness, structure, budget, digital inclusion; Training strategy and methodology; Combating inequalities; Public planning and budgeting.

Throughout the semester, INCT Participa reported on some of these classes. See again:
