The group focuses on analyzing the interactions between civil society and political institutions, specifically examining processes related to the distribution of political power, the articulation of demands for rights, and the construction of democracy.
Its research agenda includes both theoretical studies and empirical investigations. With other groups, it is part of the Núcleo de Pesquisas em Participação Política at the Universidade Estadual do Maringá (NUPPOL/UEM), which regularly organizes the National Seminar on Political Participation and Democracy.
